VACANCY NOTICE – AV5/26: HEAD OF THE OBSERVATORY AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT

The International Olive Council (IOC) is the international, intergovernmental organisation responsible for administering the International Agreement on Olive Oil and Table Olives, 2015. It serves as a global forum for stakeholders in the olive oil and table olive sector, carrying out numerous activities to benefit its member countries. The IOC is supported by an Executive Secretariat, headed by an Executive Director. The Executive Secretariat is responsible for implementing the decisions and strategies adopted by the IOC Council of Members and for meeting the needs of the Organisation. The IOC currently has five official languages (Arabic, English, French, Italian and Spanish), two of which are working languages (English and French). The purpose of this notice is to invite applications for the post of Head of the Observatory and Information Systems Department, as part of the IOC Executive Secretariat.

Applicants must be nationals3 of an IOC member country

-Successful candidates will be required to undergo a satisfactory medical examination to confirm their fitness for service from a health perspective.

-Education o University degree (four years or more) related to the subject of the post identified in the job description, such as Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. o Postgraduate (master’s degree) in Cybersecurity or Information Technology Management will be considered as an asset. o Relevant professional certifications, such as PMP, ITIL, CISM, CISSP, Microsoft 365 Administrator, or Cisco CCNA/CCNP.

-Professional experience o At least four years of experience related to the subject of the post outlined in the job description.

-Languages o Good command of English (B2 level) and/or French (B2 level) o Good command of Spanish (B2 level)

The incumbent will have the following responsibilities and fulfil the following duties: The position requires a senior professional with the profile of Head of Information Technology and Digital Transformation, capable of combining advanced technical expertise with a strategic vision. The successful candidate must be able to ensure the operational continuity, security and ongoing technological development of the IOC.

Main tasks: Olive Observatory

-Coordinate the work of the management committee of the Olive Observatory

-Implement and administer collaborative information platforms

-Coordinate the information, data and indicators of the Observatory

-Ensure compliance with deadlines for supplying platform input

-Promote dialogue between different partners

-Coordinate the monthly newsletter and the online journal Olivae.

-Manage the servers and computer networks, manage client workstations and ensure software and information systems are kept up to date

-Manage the IOC website

-Implement IT security procedures and ensure compliance with the IT charter

-Help users with the IT environment

-Help keep track of technological developments and ensure the application of new information and communication technologies at the IOC

-Liaise with suppliers and IT service providers

-Assist the Administrative Management and Human Resources Unit in managing the IT budget
